Dr. Ray S. Kim.png


Ray S. Kim, Ph.D.

 

Dr. Ray Kim is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in Forensic Psychology. His professional experience includes working as a forensic psychologist in a secure psychiatric unit for patients determined Unfit to Stand Trial and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, and later as the Forensic Outpatient Director of Chicago Metropolitan Forensic Services.

Dr. Kim was one of the first psychologists trained by the Illinois Department of Human Services to evaluate sex offenders for sexual dangerousness under the Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act. He is also one of the first certified Licensed Sex Offender Evaluators and Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Providers in Illinois.

Dr. Agoritsa Barczak is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist and Licensed Sex Offender Evaluator with extensive experience in forensic evaluations and expert testimony related to:

 


Dr. Barczak also specializes in malingering assessments for individuals suspected of faking or exaggerating symptoms of mental illness.

Sharon Coleman, Psy.D.

 

Dr. Sharon Coleman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Deputy Director for Forensic and Justice Services at the Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Mental Health. She has over 20 years of clinical experience as a forensic evaluator and expert witness.

​

Dr. Coleman has helped shape justice and mental health policies in collaboration with state and federal stakeholders. Her achievements include the development of innovative programs focusing on offender re-entry, community reintegration, and legal system diversion.

Michaela M. Mozley, Ph.D. - Meet Our Team.png


Michaela M. Mozley, Ph.D.

​

Dr. Michaela Mozley is a doctorally trained Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Sex Offender Evaluator, and Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider whose practice is centered on forensic assessment. She conducts evaluations for juvenile, criminal, and civil courts and grounds her work in actuarial and structured professional judgment instruments and current research.


Dr. Mozley’s forensic evaluation experience includes:

 

  • Sexual offending risk assessments for juveniles and adults

  • Violence risk assessments and evaluations of threats of violence

  • Sexually Violent Predator evaluations 

  • Sentencing evaluations

  • Fitness to stand trial evaluations

  • Parenting capacity assessments

 

She currently conducts forensic evaluations across the above areas, as well as adult autism diagnostic assessments and traumatic-stress evaluations for psychological injury matters.

Ellis O’Connor, Psy.D.

Dr. Ellis O'Connor is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Sex Offender Evaluator specializing in forensic psychological evaluations for the following: 

 

  • Psychological functioning

  • Fitness to stand trial

  • Sanity

  • Risk of violence

  • Sex offender evaluations

 

Dr. O’Connor has worked as a full-time staff member at the Kane County Diagnostic Center since 2019. She frequently appears as an expert witness in court proceedings and consults with attorneys.

Dr. Michael Oliverio is a licensed clinical psychologist and licensed sex offender evaluator with over 10 years of experience conducting forensic assessments. For the past decade, he has served as a psychologist in a municipal court system, evaluating a wide variety of referral questions, including:

 

  • Psychological Functioning

  • Fitness to Stand Trial

  • Sanity / Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI)

  • Sex Offender Risk Assessment

 

He is prepared to support his clinical judgment with thorough evaluations and expert testimony.

Janelle E. Shinhoster, Psy.D.

 

Dr. Janelle E. Shinhoster is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in comprehensive forensic and psychological evaluations, including:

  • Court-Ordered Psychological Evaluations

  • Independent Psychological Evaluations

  • Trauma-Informed Evaluations

  • Expert Witness and Consultation Services

Since 2019, Dr. Shinhoster has conducted fitness evaluations for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court in Lake County. She is a Licensed Sex Offender Evaluator and Treatment Provider with more than 15 years of forensic, correctional, and clinical experience, and she serves as a board member of the Illinois Chapter of ATSA.

Alexandra Tsang, Psy.D.

 

Dr. Alexandra Tsang is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a sub-specialty in Forensic Psychology and 25 years of experience. 

 

Dr. Tsang conducts a wide range of evaluations, from fitness to stand trial and sanity evaluations to risk assessments for violent behavior. These include:

  • Miranda Warning assessments

  • Sex offender and sexually violent predator evaluations

  • Assessments related to school shootings and juvenile transfers

​

She presently serves as the Director and Chief Psychologist at Kane County Diagnostic Center.

Dr. Ashley VanOpstall is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Sex Offender Evaluator with expertise in comprehensive forensic evaluations, including:
