Michael Oliverio, Psy.D.

 

Dr. Michael Oliverio is a licensed clinical psychologist and licensed sex offender evaluator with more than 15 years of experience in the field of psychology. He intentionally pursued a broad range of clinical and forensic training experiences early in his career, establishing a strong foundation for evaluating the diverse and often complex issues that arise in legal contexts. 
 

For the past decade, Dr. Oliverio has served as a psychologist for a municipal court system in the Chicago suburbs. In this role, he regularly conducts comprehensive forensic evaluations for individuals involved in the criminal court system and routinely addresses a wide variety of referral questions, including:

Dr. Oliverio’s evaluation approach is characterized by meticulous preparation, including thorough review of collateral records, careful consideration of relevant statutes, and adherence to established forensic best practices. He frequently conducts evaluations in complex or high-stakes cases due to his balanced, detail-oriented, and legally informed assessment style.


Dr. Oliverio served as a member of a specialty court treatment team for seven years in a unique role as a consultant focused on evaluating the eligibility of potential participants applying for a Mental Health Court program. Aside from working primarily with adults, he has experience working with juveniles, including previously serving as the interim psychologist responsible for mental health services at a juvenile detention center. In addition to his work in the criminal courts, Dr. Oliverio conducts evaluations within the family court system, provides supervision and training to doctoral-level psychology students, and delivers psychoeducation to municipal employees. He has also overseen pre-employment psychological assessments for first responders, ensuring that public safety agencies receive clear, defensible, and empirically grounded recommendations. 

 

Dr. Oliverio brings clarity, reliability, and professional integrity to every evaluation. His reports and testimony are designed to assist attorneys and courts in making informed decisions in complex legal matters.
